Morning shift on the mini train with Annoying Mike. I had to also handle the kiddie boats as Da Park is understaffed (and Mike is not trained). I asked Not Scott why we were so shorthanded. He said about 25% of the staff went back to college. Did you know this was going to happen? He replied he did. So why not, I don't know....HIRE PEOPLE TO REPLACE SOME OF THEM????? Maybe train some of the other staff? He hemmed and hawed but did not give a reasonable answer. Instead there are now 21 open kiddie boat shifts in the next 2 weeks. Doesn't take a genius to figure out when people leave, get new people. Now the onus of kiddie boats rests on the train staff. It's not like we are getting paid more to handle 2 rides. Shit, I did not even get a 'thank you' on Monday. There are a few people who are not cross trained. Why should Mike or NY Joe get to do just the train but never kiddie boats or carousel? Not what i would call a fair division of responsibility.

If that were not enough it was hotter than five foxes fucking in a forest fire today. No breeze at all. Some little girl peed herself on the train entrance ramp. Left a nice puddle of tinkle. It took Nickle-Less 10 minutes to show up with some water to wash it away. Yay! Piss puddle in 99 degree heat smells amazing!!!!
