gone to pieces

Erica played me some rando video the other day. Contained in it was the phrase 'you do not know you have been asleep until you wake up'. Man, that's profound. I have been ruminating over that line since. I have tried to figure out how to apply it in a philosophical manner but have not nailed it yet. I would hate to have such a great line in the Quote Arsenal and not know how to use it.
Here is a movie pick for no reason. If you haven't seen this I highly recommend it. Beautifully sparse. Very little dialogue. An absolutely gorgeous film.

Date: 2023-09-06 05:42 pm (UTC)I have experienced that both literally and metaphorically.
Back when my kid was small, and I was working nights at a bakery I didn't get very much sleep. Sometimes while doing a mechanical task at work, I would have the sensation of waking up. At work. On my feet. It was a weird feeling. Also, sometimes at my last job when I'd walk over the hill in the middle of the night I would arrive at the bakery with no memory of actually walking there.
I wont waste more of your comments page writing about the metaphoric sense. That could take a while.
