sorta similar cycles
Jun. 3rd, 2023 12:18 pmToday was a reasonably nice day. I work the morning shift on the train with Joshua Jay. We were super busy and did a lot of rides for a lot of happy people. Afterwards I bounced over to a local coffee joint and met up with Lil Andrew.
I first met Andrew years ago when he came into El Recordo' Sto' to buy some Young the Giant records. He was a goofy little awkward 20 year old millennial. He came in regularly until Covid-FU shut us down and I haven’t seen him since. It’s nice to see how he has grown into a goofy little awkward man. He first asked me how I was so I gave him a Readers Digest Condensed version of my Mama Drama. I tried to only hit the low lights because I did not want to dominate the conversation. I was able to get the whole story out in 30 minutes. I asked him how he was and he told me about his (legitimately mentally ill) crazy girlfriend. That was almost 2 hours of conversation. There is a lot to unpack but it looks like Andrew has handled this situation with grace and empathy. He has handled it better than I would have lol. He told me about his band as well as some other little tidbits of his life. We hung out for almost 3 hours before I dropped him off at his apartment. If I had a son I would hope he would be as good a kid has Lil Andrew has turned into.
