the same thing today
Mar. 6th, 2023 09:50 amI was quarantined for almost 2 years with no outside stimulation thanks to Covid-FU. Like a lot of people I got a case of Covid Brain. I had a hard time remembering words that should have come easily. Over the last year, thanks for being out as well as having a job, a lot of the fogginess has dissipated. Still, once in a while I stumble while trying to remember something simple.
I was lying in bed watching TV last night as Erica was brushing her teeth. She came in and asked me to give her a recap of what had happened on The Simpsons while she was in the bathroom. I explained the storyline which included Bart getting hit by a car, bonking his head and losing his memory. The problem was I could not think of the word for losing your memory. I did not do a good enough job explaining to Erica what I meant and therefore she did not come up with the word either. I eventually grabbed my iPod and went to The Googles. The word I was looking for was “amnesia”.
As Erica pointed out I could not remember the word that meant you could not remember.
Irony at its finest.
