Today is my Uncle Clem's 100th birthday. Holy shit. He is still coherent and 'with it'. The last time I saw him he was in his 80's. He still got up early, made breakfast and walked a mile every day. He is well respected in his family. Many moons ago MeMum and I were visiting him (he lives in NY) and we went to a big family dinner at a local restaurant. I do not recall the topic but everyone was throwing their 2 cents worth in. Uncle Clem said "well....as far as I am concerned..." and ALL conversation at the table ceased. Everyone wanted to hear what he had to say. I will never forget that moment.

Met up with Younga Sista today at The Unhappiest Place in America. It was a good visit with Mom. She was not as engaged as other visits but still interacted with us as she shoved a pile of food in her mouth. That makes me laugh because pre-ALZ she ate like a bird. Now she eats whatever we drop in front of her. Yesterdays visit is exactly why ALZ is such a goddamn nightmare. I do not want her to live like this but days like yesterday make me wonder how I could say such a thing.

Said it once....said a hundred times. Fuck you, Alzheimer's.
