Since the Holiday Thang has ended, as well as my unfortunate and ridiculous suspension, things are getting back to normalcy at Da Park. When I was putting up decorations I didn’t get the full experience of mingling with parkgoers. Now that I’m back to running the attractions there are plenty of “unique” people to discuss.
Earlier today I was working the train when a woman came up with her long haired little boy. I greeted her with a hello and she responded in a ridiculously thick Southern drawl. “Hah. How you duuuune?” I scanned her tickets and she/son boarded the train. It’s not exactly out of place for a Southern person to have a thick Southern drawl down here in the South. What made this woman stand out a bit was her choice of clothing. She was wearing a hijab. She had pale white skin so my assumption was that she was not of Middle Eastern descent. I made an educated guess that she had married into the lifestyle. Again, none of this really made her out of the ordinary.
Then why am I bringing this up? When I walked past her heading towards the back of the train she was sitting semi-manspread and I could see her shoes. She was wearing old school Air Jordan's. Her hijab was not of traditionally Middle Eastern design. It was green camouflage. A ridiculously thick accent, a camouflage hijab and Air Jordans. I guess if you were going to join a group that you are not traditionally a part of it helps to maintain your sense of style. I would bet holidays at her house are something.

I am not being judgmental in anyway. I’m only here to report things.
