There’s a woman who works in our building. It’s an interesting arrangement. She works for the landowners but not the building owners as they are two separate entities. I’m not in real estate. This may be common but it’s fascinating to me. The building sells every few years but the land it sits on has never been sold by the original owner. That way they keep it in the family for generations, creating revenue down the line. Fucking brilliant. We met her on a random Sunday morning while we were sitting in the lobby people watching. She walked in and noticed my iPod case. In an incredible coincidence my iPod has the same tree of life cover has her iPad. That’s truly a one in 1 million coincidence. She’s a nice person but it’s obvious her background is money. She is always well-dressed with jewelry, drives a nice car. She discusses things like her twice a year 10 day trip to Florida to scuba dive as if it’s as routine as getting the Sunday paper. She speaks a lot about her life but the funny thing is she does not off as classically arrogant. She speaks very matter-of-factly but she’s oblivious to the fact that not everybody lives like that. She’s a little bit on the snooty side and it’s obvious how people can dislike her. I find her amusing. It makes me laugh because I feel like she has to minimize her exploits for a commoners like Erica and me. .Ladies and germs, please welcome Da L-ANN-dlady to PlanetChip

Erica has taken it upon herself up on herself to move a little more. A couple of weeks ago she started going on a short daily walk. After a couple days she invited me to roll along. i now look forward to it as iy gets me up, moving and breathing in the clean air. On Wednesday we did our usual walk in the brisk 36° zone. We usually sit in the lobby for the next hour, sucking up the buildings heat before heading home. Whilst enjoying our warm Da L-ANN-dlady rolled up to our table, leaving for the day.
She was telling us about how amazing her Christmas was when she noticed there was a pin on my hat (when i became disabled I gave up my trademark baseball hat and purchased a tie-dyed goofball hat. If I was going to be lazy and unproductive I wanted to look that way.

Da L-ANN-dlady"-What does your pin say?"
me-"The Cure. They just released their first album in 18 years. Everyone assumed we wouldn’t get new music from them but we did and it’s friggin brilliant."
Da L-ANN-dlady-""oh, so there a band? i’ve never heard of them. They must not be very good if I’ve never heard of them (she turns to Erica and winks).
me-(faux annoyance)-"Oh really? I don’t think we can be friends then. Good day" I closed my laptop & slid it into its bag. Gave them an annoyed grunt and walked off.

yesterday we passed her in the lobby and she wished us a happy holiday. Erica engaged in conversation but when she turned her head to me I again give her in annoyed grunt and walked away without speaking.

I know this is childish and immature behavior but since I am childish and immature it's true to nature. I came upstairs, turned on Andy Williams Christmas album and laughed for the next 10 minutes. Erica finally returned and told me Da L-ANN-dlady wished me a happy birthday. I wonder if she’s going to buy me a The Cure record?
