tell her no
Oct. 18th, 2024 02:02 pmAs you all well know I am not one to go on and on about myself. Out of all the topics I speak about I find myself to be the least interesting. But in the name of recovery I am sharing some of my personal milestones. A couple of weeks ago I got out of the wheelchair and up on my feet with a walker. I very sloppily dragged one foot in front of the other. It was ugly but still counted as steps. The first since August 2023. At my next session i did 3 treks on the parallel bars. Next session 3 time's up the bars, 2 trips backwards. As that session ended, at Elyse's request....
Out came the walker.
Together we went down one side of the gym. 30-something feet. Dayumm!
On Monday of this week, using the walker again, I walked down one side, made a right and walked down the other. Half a lap. The combined total was roughly 75 feet. I made two complete laps around the gym.Roughly 300 feet. Not bad after only a couple sessions of uprightery.
On Wednesday I was greeted with Brittany as my therapist. She has been out due to some medical issues and she had yet to see me 'walking'. We went to the outside area of the rehab facility and did 1.5 laps with the walker. A grand total of 395 feet. I was going to post about this yesterday but truth be told I was completely whipped. My legs hurt like hell, my hips and my knees are swollen and in severe pain. This walking shit is no joke. i mdont know how you people do it all day.
