On Friday, Erica and I gave a shot to being food philatelists for the first time. We called our local cripple transport company to give us a ride to our favorite Groceria. It was my first time there since last August. It was really nice seeing my favorite cashiers and baggers and having them greet me. A nice uplifting feeling before spending the gummint’s money. Erica had arranged for Johnny Donuts to meet us there as he wanted to see me and hang out for a bit. We filled our carts with items that normally we would not purchase. That nine dollar spaghetti sauce everyone loves. That ready-made Chinese food that just needs to get tossed in a microwave. Those little rolls of pizza that come in a bag. I still balked at buying some overly priced items. Regardless of how much money I have to spend I’m still not gonna throw money in the gutter. Groceries are just outrageous so we passed on a lot of things. But we capped it off by getting a couple of huge steaks. Erica fried them up last night for dinner and they were amazing. I don’t know how I’ll ever go back to eating common food again. At least once a week from now on I must have a $15 t-bone. But I’m still not gonna pay $2.99 for a six pack of ramen. I ain't crazy like that.
