slide whistles and moon pies
Oct. 14th, 2023 12:36 pmDa Younga Sista and I went to the urologist on Monday to be re-cathetered. The doctor prescribed me a 90 day supply of Flomax. My pharmacy up until then has been the Target about 15 minutes away but Erica and I decided to switch to Walgreens as it was only a five minute drive. On her way home Wednesday Erica stopped in to grab my drugs. The pharmacist told her it would be $123. With a Good RX app discount it would be $58. That’s insanely ridiculously stupid. I rooted around the app and had the prescription transferred to Costco. Younga and I picked it up yesterday. It was $3.99.
My initial reaction was FU Walgreens. Younga and I went to meet my new GP yesterday. I needed a refill on my glucose monitor test strips and needles. He called the prescription in to CVS as I had given up on Walgreens already. I was looking at the GoodRx app this morning and saw that at CVS both of these products would be in the $30s. At Walgreens they would both be under $10. What in the blue hell? My nurse is trying to find me the link so I can apply to a North Carolina Medicaid program. It looks like every prescription until I get Medicaid is going to have to be bounced around different pharmacies.
Yep. The American healthcare system rules!
