warm from the candle
Jun. 1st, 2023 03:41 pmI have this iPod for 5 years or so and I FINALLY figured out how shuffle my iTunes library. I plugged it in after work today and headed home. The 3rd song that hit was this diamond. It was on the 1991 Temple of the Dog LP. A project recorded to celebrate the life of Andrew Wood, vocalist of Seattle's Mother Love Bone, who had recently died of a heroin overdose. The project was the brainchild of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell who was Wood's roommate at the time. After hearing of Woods overdose, Cornell promptly wrote 2 songs (Say Hello To Heaven & Hunger Strike). This is my favorite track on the LP. With all the death that I have dealt with in past few years, it hits pretty hard. A beautifully painful song.
