I had finished my carousel shift yesterday and was just hanging out chatting with MacDaddy when KC walked into the room. KC is one of my favorite people at Da Park. 24-year old college grad but has grown up very sheltered. She has absolutely NO pop culture references and generally is a little clueless about things overall. She was carrying a gray plastic case. "Can someone tell me what this thing is? It's been in my desk forever." She set the case on the table and popped it open. I spoke first.

Me-"Yeah. That's a label maker"
KC-"What does it do?"
Me-"Um...it makes labels. It's kind of right there in the name." I explained to her how it works.
KC-"So I have to turn the dial for EVERY different letter? That sucks". I told her it might be one them there newfangled labeled makers that has voice command. You just have to speak into the microphone in the back. It only took her 4 or 5 saying my name into the maker before realizing I was effing with her.
MacDaddy-"You would be lost if you had to use a rotary phone"
KC-"My grandma had on those. The portable kind that flipped up. Izzat right?"
Me-"I believe the phones that flipped up were called flip-phones, KC. A rotary is now referred to as a land-line."
KC-"Oh yeah! My grandma had a rotary phone! The kind with the push buttons!".

She said that with such pride and confidence that I did not call her on it. I grabbed my water, wished everyone a fine day, and went home. I love that kid.
