the hand of doom
Jan. 24th, 2023 10:09 amMy grandpa used to say “it’s always something.”
El Recordo Sto’ a pretty good Monday, orders wise. For whatever reason we had about twice as many as normal. I don’t have to go to work until 1:30 today so I figured I would go ahead and process them now. I opened up the orders page as well as my online spreadsheet. I began the task of submitting the orders to the distributor and putting the order numbers into the XLS. I copied an order number and in the process of moving the cursor to my spreadsheet, the mouse died. The cursor just stopped mid-flight. I flipped it over and the sensor light was not on. The batteries had croaked. It was kind of bizarre because it showed no signs of the batteries weakening. It wasn’t acting wonky or weird. The batteries just up and died in the middle of a task without warning. I had to put on my clothes, get in the car and drive to the store to buy more batteries. In case you don’t know, batteries are effing expensive now. I popped two new ones in and everything was fine. I only needed 2 but, dammit, I had to buy an 8-pack. I certainly hope to hell my mouse dies a little quicker to justify spending so much money on these freaking batteries.
