friends in the future
Nov. 20th, 2022 07:16 pmAfter the Christmas parade was cancelled yesterday we decided to meet up with Da Younga Sista for lunch (J-Nic's mom). We ended up at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar in North Raleigh. Erica had sliders and I got a burger with pesto and a fried egg. I also got a side of giant onion rings. The food was better than I expected. We hung out and chatted for a good while. During the conversation Sista let me know MeMum has been taken off Hospice Care (in the good way). Her health has not shown any decline in the last year. Her cognitive thought is gone but she is a tough old bird that will probably outlive us all.
After a while Younga Sista had to roll so the 4 of us meandered over to Vintage Village. It is a cute little village of antique shops. Today it is a shell of it's past glory. Half of the buildings have been razed. There used to be a dozen sellers or so. Now there are only a few, housed in 4 or 5 buildings. We dropped in on the 2 biggest. Ugh.....completely filled with Christmas stuff.
On the way home we saw the first 2 tree's on cars. People...can we let Thanksgiving get past us before we dive into Christmas? I know it called HalloGivingMas but there is a specific order. NO CUTSIES!!!
