these things we carry
Aug. 25th, 2022 07:39 pmGot stuck on the kiddie boats 9-2 today. 92 degrees, 100% humidity. I was soaked in sweat by 9:30. Gross. It was predictably slow. I gave a few 1 or 2 kids rides. It can be mind numbing at times. Watching one little shit go around for 5 laps as their dimwit adult units stand outside and shouting their name constantly so they can get that one perfect social media pic. Maybe try shutting up and let your little bundle of joy enjoy the ride? Huh? Howzabowdat?
About noon-ish, 2 Jamaican men came up with a kid. Both of the fella's looked...shall we say...a little "sleepy". The little boy had dreads down to his ass (as did the 2 guys). There is a sign in front of the rides with a measurement on it. Ya gots to be at least 30" to ride, and no more than 54". The boy stood up against the sign, then turned towards the guys. "I am high enough to ride da boats!". One of the guys looked at me and said "Aye...me too, mon! Heh heh!". All 3 of us burst into gut-wrenching laughter. It was by far the best comment I have heard at work this week.
