maritime blunders of the 20th century
May. 21st, 2022 08:28 amI just dropped Erica off at work and now I have to make myself a salad. I have to make myself a sandwich and toss it all into my Nerd Lunchbox. I am doing two shifts in the carousel today at The Park.
I did the afternoon/evening shift yesterday. I worked from 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM with weird ass Alex. He’s a nice enough fella but he speaks constantly in an infomercial pitchman voice. I feel like I’m working with Billy Mays. On the lighter side, on the last ride of an otherwise uneventful day I saw a lovely young girl. She had shoulder length light brown hair and was wearing a pair of kitty ears. She waved at me each time the carousel passed. The rest of the time she was holding her left hand up. She was holding it as if she were shielding her eyes from the light but her palm was held towards her face. She was making duck faces, and randomly flashing peace signs to no one in particular. As she exited the carousel I asked her who she was mugging for.
“I’m practicing selfies for when I get a cell phone“.
Ah, the life of the American eight year old girl.
