seeking a verdict

I worked double shifts the past 2 days. Ends up being roughly 9.5 hours with a lunch break. That's a lot for me, having not really worked since 2020. The highlight yesterday was a couple visiting NC from NYC. They dropped in to hang with some friends for a week. They were an NYC Puerto Rican couple from Queens. If you have never heard the accent of a New York Puerto Rican (or, for that matter, a Puerto Rican New Yorker) it is magic. Melding the PR accent with the Queens accent is effing amazing. I chatted with them for quite awhile. They reminded me of the Puerto Rican stations on the NYC AM dial. Or when I was a boy, when I would slip my tiny transistor radio under my pillow and listen to the Spanish feed of NY Mets baseball games. The PR's on the subway and the bodega's...talking a 100 MPH. As they left the carousel, the wife said thanks. I replied with "Fuhgeddabowdit". The husband pointed his thumb at me. "Ay...get a loada dis joker over heeyaa! Fuuugeddabowdit!".

It was a like symphony to me.
